How I made my blog look better
I started my blog off with a basic theme that caught my attention because it had my favorite color and I liked the layout. Whenever I went back to look at it, the theme didn’t seem to entice me as much. This blog follows the four basic rules of design: contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity. I changed the colors a little to create more contrast and to be more easy on the eyes. The original theme had bright colors and looked busy, I decided to stick to white and grey with a pop of purple to create contrast. I made sure to keep the blog post grey, the background and the main title white and the links purple. This continuity of color across the entire blog creates repetition. The text is aligned to the left and the picture is centered in order to create space between the blog post, date, and body. The four entities are space appropriately to each other in order to ensure the reader can tell the difference (proximity). The title and date have more space between the two than the lines of the paragraph do telling the reader that the body paragraph is separate than the title or date.
Hi Jordan,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the contrast you used for the text your blog and how it also held repetition with the purple background. I also appreciated the proximity together aligned to the left to allow the reader to focus on the message.
I love the contrasting purple and white colors on your blog! It allows the reader to easily read your content and makes it aesthetically appealing! It looks like you really understood what we learned in class about CRAP, and you applied it to your blog in a great way! Great job!
